Angela Riley is the firm's Compliance Director. She founded the firm in 1986.

She is a qualified Chartered Accountant and, as a tax specialist, is a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation.

She specialises in tax, including inheritance tax planning, charity accounting and business start-ups.

She is a past President of the West Yorkshire Society of Chartered Accountants, treasurer of Age Concern Calderdale and Kirklees, a governor at Rishworth School and treasurer of Halifax Hockey Club. She is also President of Yorkshire Hockey Association.

She speaks French and enjoys international classic car rallies.

Simon Walton became Tax Director in November 2003, having originally joined the firm in 1991.

He is a Chartered Accountant and has extensive experience within the tax environment having started his career working for the Inland Revenue.

Simon specialises in the taxation of professionals including medical practitioners, dentists and solicitors.

Simon sits on the regional Working Together Initiative panel. This is a consultation forum between the Inland Revenue and tax professionals.

He is treasurer of Business For Calderdale a not for profit networking organisation promoting local business.
He is married to Gemma and they have two daughters. In his spare time you will find him caravanning in the Lake District or following his beloved Accrington Stanley.

Vicky became Audit Director in August 2005, having joined Riley & Co as Audit Manager in 1999.

She specialises in accounting and audit issues for the firm’s larger clients and groups.

Vicky trained as a Chartered Accountant in a large independent practice before moving to the national firm Robson Rhodes.

Vicky spent several years in industry working as financial controller for firstly a new start up owner managed business followed by a multi-million turnover plc.

In her spare time Vicky is a keen supporter of Halifax RLFC. She is married to Dan, and they have two young daughters.

She is a Governor of Calderdale College and chairs the Finance and Resources committee. She also recently became a parent governor at Crossley Heath School.

Sarah joined the firm in August 2005 from Bousfield Waite where she had worked since leaving university, having gained a BA (Hons) degree in Accountancy and Finance.

She specialises in the accounting and audit of charity and not for profit organisations and is our Charity Accounts Manager.

Sarah has passed her ACCA and ATT professional exams and holds the ICAEW Diploma in Charity Accounting, Sarah is one of Riley & Co’s best qualified Accountants.

In her spare time Sarah is a live music fan and also a trustee and treasurer at Voluntary Action Calderdale.

She is married to Dan and they have one young son.

Paul Jones is firm's Assistant Audit Manager. He also manages our company secretarial services.

Paul has extensive experience of working in practice. Prior to joining Riley & Co in 1999 he spent 12 years with an independent firm in Leeds. Paul is fully conversant with all of the Companies Act statutory obligations.

Paul is a follower of Yorkshire County Cricket Club. He is married and has a son and a daughter.

Bernie has been with the firm since August 2005, having worked since she left school for well established Accountants in Bradford.

She had excellent training there and came to Riley & Co as an experienced accounts senior, she is now our Accounts Manager and has qualified as an MAAT.

She and her husband Keith play the cornet and have been members of various brass bands including Stocksbridge and Todmorden. Amongst other venues they have played at the Royal Albert Hall and the Houses of Parliament.

Abdul is a graduate of Heath Grammar
School, Halifax who trained as an accountant with the international firm Deloittes.

He is treasurer of Halifax Cricket Club.

Farzana joined the firm in July 2006 as an accounts senior, having moved from a well established firm of accountants in Bradford.

She has a BA (Hons) degree in Accountancy & Finance and is currently doing the final stage in the ACCA professional papers.

Her experience includes working in the industry for 2 years, and also being a trustee for ‘The Mayfield Trust’, a charity which deals with people who havelearning difficulties.

Farzana is married and her hobbies include shopping and trying out her cookery skills amongst her family and friends.

Lisa joined the firm in August 2003 after studying business at AVCE level and ICT at A Level.

She has studied at Babington College and qualified as a MAAT and has moved on to study towards her ACA qualification.

Lisa is a wizard with computers and is our IT co-ordinator.

She likes exotic animals and owns a baby Bearded Dragon called Gordan. In her spare time she enjoys eating out, going to the cinema and visiting new places.
She is currently expecting her first child, who is due in May 2011.

Ashleigh joined the firm in August 2007. Having left Huddersfield New College with A-levels in Economics, Business, Geography and an A-S level in Maths.

Since joining us she has achieved NVQ level's 1-4 in Accountancy and is now MAAT qualified. She is currently studying towards her ACCA qualification.

In he spare time Ashleigh does freelance book-keeping and is a member of the International Association of Bookkeepers, she is also trustee and treasurer of Dare2B Different.

Ashleigh enjoys skiing, spinning, shopping and is a keen supporter of Huddersfield Town. She has also achieved her gold Duke of Edinburgh award.

Karl Joined Riley & Co in August 2010 having left Huddersfield New College with A levels in Business, Accounting and Geography and with an A-S level in Maths.

He is currently studying at Babington Business College towards his AAT qualification.

Karl enjoys takeaways and socialising with friends and has plans to start hitting the gym to get fit.

Tony is a sports enthusiast who plays squash for Queens Sports Club.

He is married to Eleanor and they have two sons.

Stephanie joined the firm in October 2006 as an Administration Assistant and is now the office Administrator working alongside Tony Hindle & Kayley Moran.

Stephanie also assists with the Company Secretarial administration.

Tony joined the firm in spring 2008 as a part time administration assitant, having retired from The West Yorkshire Police in 2001.

Since retirement Tony has had spells of working for the Police in an agency capacity ,and he has been involved in many different investigations.

He is manger of Greetland AFC in his spare time and also enjoys history and playing the guitar.

Tony is married to Anne and has two grown up sons and two grandchildren.
